hello forum
after the great turn out at Bowdon on Saturday i would be interested in any catches from there.
i know the 14lb common came out recently.
personally i only know of 7x carp including the 2 ghost, a few bream to 4lb and loads of small perch.
it would be interesting to know whats left in there and of course what to restock.
also if any one see's kids (that should not be there)or litter there if you let me know i will investigate as this water is close to home.

Are you sure it was a week until the next Bowden Hall working party.I was under the impression it was two weeks.Unfortunately I am unable to attend on Thursday.If it is a week perhaps you might issue correction on Message board.

you are correct the next work party is on Saturday the 25-07-09
when i posted the note saying "see you there on Saturday" there was a delay before it was seen on here and a Saturday had past.
so just to confirm next Saturday 25th
if i hear anything different at the meeting i will update it on hear .

Hi John
I have fished Bowden for past 2 to 3years when South Manchester had it and i have had Tench,Roach,Bream,Perch and 1 Rudd i have also been stapped by a large Carp.This may help you as to what fish are in Bowden but how many i would not like to say.

I've always enjoyed fishing this water, mainly because it has lots of features you can target (the islands, weeds etc). Historically I've had good days fishing close into the weeds around the back of the island on the left (as you enter), landing 15 to 20 tench of between 2 to 4 lbs. However this was about ten years ago and the weeds in that area have now been cut back a great deal.
The carp patrol the margins around both islands and you can get bites fishing close in to them, they run up to about 15lbs to my knowledge with an average being around the 8 to 10 mark. Good baits historically for me were sweetcorn and casters.
Returned to the water yesterday (yes my cards all signed up) and fished around the back of the left island toward the centre of the lake (tutti fruity boilie) and also into the mouth of one of the channels (strawberry flavoured pellets) at the back of the lake. Landed a 9lb Common on the boilie, lovely to see the fish was in excellent condition.

Hi again
Last week i fished Bowden Hall in the evening On Thursday i caught small mirror carp(1,1/2lb,) 6 perch,and 1 Roach in perfect condition,then on Sunday again in the evening i caught 3lb1oz Bream,6Perch and 1roach,there was a large shoal of Bream swimming around on the top to-gether with
6 or 7 carp.All were caught on maggot.

interesting there has been no tench yet! i hope its just a weather thing.
good to see roach coming out as this is another fish i have never caught from there.
