Reply with quote | #1 | Hi all. I've put a couple of replies on other posts to this tune, but nobody has yet answered them, so I'll try with a fresh post. Basically, when can members who haven't attended a work party fish Bowden Hall? I've not been to a work party purely because of my job on the railway, which means I work some strange hours including Saturdays and Sundays. I AM WILLING (and keen) to attend a work party, and I have asked on this forum if there are any more planned, but nobody seems to know. I feel at the moment that I'm being done out of fishing a water controlled by my club, to whom I pay the same subscriptions as anybody else, through no fault of my own. Even if there are no more work parties planned, is there anything I can do on my own, or with just one or two other members, this would be fine. I'm sure other members are chomping at the bit as well, so if anybody can enlighten me, please do. Many thanks. |

Reply with quote | #2 | The problem at the moment is that there has been no meeting of the club since July, there is no meeting in August. However a meeting is due this September Thursday 17th 8.00 p.m. at the High Lane Conservative club on the A6. There are a number of people who like yourself are working at weekend and no doubt this situation will be discussed. It needs to be resolved because the exclusion of anglers from certain waters until they have been on a work party has seen positive results and I will be surprised if this not in operation next year.Incidentally the restriction applies only if you have not been on any of the work parties not exclusively Bowden Hall. |

Thanks for the reply. I understand the reasoning behind the system, and as it seems to work I agree it makes sense to some extent. I just wonder if there's something else members could do to 'do their bit'? I'll try to get to the meeting on Thursday. Cheers. |
